Ways to get involved with Shark-Free Marinas
After receiving many emails requesting ways to help the Shark-Free Marina Initiative I've put together an 'Invitation to Register'. The best way that you can help is to spread the word about what we are doing. In the end we are asking for a change in how our oceans are viewed and used, this is a huge task and there is room for everyone to participate.
With this in mind here's a couple of suggestions:
- Download and print the 'Invitation to Register'. Mail it to your local marina along with a personal cover letter explaining why your business is important to them.
- Do the same but mail it to your local council member.
- Post links to this site on your blogs or website.
- If you have an interesting web presence or business that may be able to contribute to SFMI drop us an This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
When contacting a marina remember that they are a business and SFMI respects their right to make a profit and keep their boat owners and visitors happy. It's ok to be passionate about saving sharks but SFMI will not condone slander or defamation of any kind in the name of the Shark-Free Marina Initiative.
Cheers
